Shady Grove Wesleyan Preschool

Safety is our number one concern

We believe that early education is so important, but It wasn't an easy decision to operate during a time such as this. Preschool may look a little different, but the children are thriving! We take many precautions in regards to safety of our families, children and staff.  These protections and protocols are subject to change.

  • We recognize that this is a difficult and frustrating time for many people and believe families and preschool are partners together in keeping us all as safe as possible, while balancing many needs.
  • All staff wear face masks. Children are not required to wear masks, but we support parents who would like their children to wear masks at preschool.
  • Parents are not allowed to enter the building at drop off and pick up. We know this is a difficult change, but the children have adjusted amazingly.
  • Children enter through one main entrance, have their temperature taken and use hand sanitizer before joining their classmates. Parents are asked to social distance while waiting using the marked spaces.
  • Sanitation and handwashing have always been important to us- this practice has continued and increased. All common surfaces are disinfected each day, as well as classrooms surfaces, toys, bathrooms, etc. Handwashing is a regular part of our day and good handwashing techniques are taught by all staff.
  • Our sickness policy is strictly followed. Please also see the COVID flowchart (below) for our practices regarding COVID testing or quarantine requirements, etc. Please verify with the preschool if this is the most up to date protocol. PCR tests are the accepted test for returning to school if a child or staff has symptoms.
  • Age groups practice social distancing from other age groups. So Oaks PreK classes play on the playground together, but they will not play with the Twigs classes. This helps prevent spread and limit any quaratines due to exposure.  Music and Chapel spacings have been adapted to allow for fun times while still maintaining distance between ages.
  • There is no change or refunds in tuition for any absences or temporary closures.
